Art Norins is a proven entrepreneur, who has successfully built multiple businesses from concept to reality. Currently he serves as the Founder, Chairman and co-CEO of Nor1.
Through the building of Nor1, Art has developed an impressive network of high level relationships in the travel industry, investment community and Silicon Valley.
Prior to creating Nor1, he founded Sandium, a B2B commercial heating ventilation and air conditioning system equipment supplier which provides engineered solutions for mission critical applications such as bio-tech facilities. Sandium also has initiatives in the high-end residential market along with partner manufacturing facilities in Germany and China. Art continues his role as Chairman of Sandium. Art is passionate about supporting fellow entrepreneurs; whether that be via angel investment, mentoring / board / advisory board roles or speaking engagements (Berkeley, Cornell, Erasmus (Rotterdam), Harvard, MIT, Purdue, Stanford, etc…)
He has philanthropic initiatives in Sub-Saharan Africa and serves on the Board of the Indiana Institute of Global Health along with Purdue University’s Strategic Alliance Council. Art has traveled extensively (visited over 100 countries spanning six continents) and has lived internationally. He is a patent holder and earned an Engineering degree from Purdue University.
Jason Bryant, Nor1 Founder and co-CEO, oversees day-to-day operations, provides visionary leadership and strategic direction for the upsell technology company.
With Jason at the helm, Nor1 has quickly emerged as the technology leader in upsell solutions. Headquartered in Silicon Valley, Nor1 provides innovative revenue enhancement solutions to the hospitality industry.
A seasoned entrepreneur, Jason has over 20 years experience building and leading international software development and operations organizations. Prior to Nor1, he founded and grew DRCI into a world-class offshore software development organization which maintained facilities in India and Mexico. DRCI focused on providing services to the travel industry, specialized in both high-volume transaction systems and Internet technologies.
Jason is a frequent speaker on technology and entrepreneurship at global events such as World Travel Market, the Hospitality Upgrade Vendor Summit, ITB Berlin, and many other industry events. He also volunteers his time to a number of non-profit organizations. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Michigan. Jason currently sits on the board of CYC – Giving Foster Youth A Voice.
Ravneet Bhandari, Chief Commercial Officer, heads the Strategic Advisory Group at Nor1, and is also responsible for all global business development initiatives and Executive-level relationships with Nor1′s largest global clients.
Under Ravneet’s leadership, the Strategic Advisory Group provides C-level advisory services and highly effective end-to-end solutions in the areas of Loyalty Marketing, CRM, E-commerce, Revenue Management, Distribution, Pricing and Targeted Upselling.
A 20 year veteran of the Hospitality Industry, Ravneet recently joined Nor1 from Starwood Capital Group, where he served as an Executive Consultant for Marketing & Technology, and was responsible for asset managing various strategic projects at Louvre Hotels Group, SCG’s largest owned subsidiary, in Paris. He previously served as Senior Vice-President of Revenue Strategy & Technology at Trump Entertainment Resorts, where he managed a diverse functional portfolio comprising Revenue Management, E-Commerce, Distribution, Sales, CRM/Loyalty, Marketing, Casino Services and Business Intelligence, and also served as the CIO for the company. Previous roles include VP of Business Strategy for Harrah’s Entertainment, Corporate VP of Revenue Management for Caesars Entertainment, and he was also the first-ever Corporate Director of Revenue Management for Hyatt International Corporation.
Ravneet holds a MBA in International Hospitality Management from ESSEC in France, a Bachelors degree in Hotel Management from IHM, New Delhi and a Bachelors in Economics from the University of Delhi, India.
Mario Bellinzona oversees all activities for Nor1 in the EMEA region, supporting the company’s growing client base and partner marketing initiatives with a dedicated European Account Revenue Management, Support Analysis and Business Development Team out of Nor1’s regional office in Frankfurt, Germany.
Prior to joining Nor1, Mario was part of the Executive Team of Trust International, an international operating hotel distribution company, where within 7 years he was holding positions as VP Global Sales and Marketing, Sr. Manager Strategic Initiatives and Key Account Manager. Prior to Trust International he was Product Manager for electronic corporate booking solutions and Management Information Systems at Amadeus Germany, a provider of global travel technology and distribution solutions.
Mario holds a Bachelor degree of Economics and Business Management with focus on Travel and Hospitality, earned at the Department of Cooperative Studies of the Berlin School of Economics and Law.
Extending and broadening Nor1′s leadership position in upsell technology is the role of Utpal Kaul as Senior Vice President of Global Strategic Partnerships. Utpal oversees relationships and development efforts with all major global hotel brands. Prior to joining Nor1, Utpal acquired nearly two decades of experience in the hospitality, travel and tourism industry with leading global brands like Taj Hotels & Resorts and Oberoi Hotels International. Utpal most recently held the position of Regional Director of Market Management for Expedia where he oversaw lodging revenue for western U.S.
Well-respected throughout the industry, Utpal often lends his expertise as a speaker at events and conferences for organizations such as Eye For Travel and HSMAI.
Utpal holds a Master’s degree from Cornell University with a major in Distribution Strategy and Revenue Management.
Sanjay has spent 15 years in the consumer internet and ecommerce markets in product management, analytical, and strategic roles. As Senior Vice President of Product Management & Analytics for Nor1, he is responsible for leading the company’s efforts in offer optimization, product strategy and development.
Sanjay was most recently Director of Data Insights at Yahoo! where he led teams responsible for generating actionable insights on ad effectiveness, funnel economics, targeting, retention, engagement, monetization, and other aspects of behavioral analytics. He holds a patent on advanced processing and segmentation methods of web usage data.
Previously, Sanjay was a member of the founding team of Orbit Commerce Inc (acquired by Digital River), an early pioneer in ecommerce web services, where he led the development of the company’s initial product. He also spent five years as a management and technology consultant at Stax Inc and Accenture, respectively. He earned a BA in Economics from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a MSc from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Somnath Banerjee, a Silicon Valley veteran, brings more than 20 years of engineering experience with specialization in the area of mobile, social and cloud oriented software to the role Vice President of Engineering for Nor1.
In this role, Somnath is responsible for managing Nor1’s skilled engineering team. He embraces the challenge of scaling Nor1’s promising data-driven solutions and delivering personalized customer experiences that generate revenues and build brand loyalties Most recently, he was COO and Managing Partner of SourceBits – a Sequoia backed Mobile apps and games developer. Somnath started his career at Texas Instruments Research and later worked at Paul Allen’s Interval Research building state of the art Object Oriented and Tablet based systems. He led the development of eGain Mail, a flagship email-based CRM product adopted by several Fortune 100 corporations. He also founded and led a multinational technology business, operated it for 8years and led its successful acquisition. During his tenure, he launched mission-critical solutions for Adobe, GlaxoSmithKline, Eastman Chemical and JPMC.
Sharon brings 30 years of hospitality experience to Nor1, most recently serving as VP, Brand and Franchise Revenue, at Hilton Worldwide.
Sharon is a results oriented leader focused on driving top line revenues and exceptional customer service. She has a proven track record of building high performance teams that are motivated and successful and is recognized for her collaboration skills, and willingness to challenge the status quo to achieve strategic goals and create positive organizational change.
As Nor1’s products gain increasing market share, Sharon is responsible for leading, managing and driving all operation centers worldwide through Nor1’s skilled account and revenue teams. While at Hilton, she led a team of more than 70 people responsible for revenue production, hotel consultation and innovative support.
In addition to her extensive tenure at Hilton, she also served as Director of Corporate Relations at Priceline. Her prior experience includes positions in revenue management and front office operations.
Sharon earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Hospitality Management from Florida International University.
Allan oversees all activities for Nor1 in the APAC region, supporting the company’s growing client base and partner marketing initiatives with a dedicated Asian/Pacific Business Development Team out of Nor1’s regional office in Singapore.
With over two decades of successful regional and international sales and marketing experience, Allan is a senior professional with highly skilled managerial abilities, providing hands-on leadership, focused mission building and full P&L responsibilities. He has a proven track record in enterprise product, solution and consultative sales, delivering results and developing compelling client value, specifically in the IT, Internet, Hospitality & IT Healthcare industries.
Prior to joining Nor1, Allan was Managing Director for IDeaS —a SAS Company — that provides pricing, forecasting and optimization solutions/services focused on the hospitality industry. Through his efforts he and his team successfully increased regional brand awareness, achieved 100% new sales/revenue targets and helped developed new modes of engagement into the domestic Chinese hospitality market.
